Pierced Arrows is one of the best bands going. Hands down. Fred, Toody and Kelly put off so much raw, passionate energy that it’s tough to just sit back and passively participate.
They’re got a new LP out on Vice (‘Decending Shadows’) that is seemingly spearheading recent praise from outside the DIY punk community. And all we can say is it’s about god damned time.
We’ve got the lead track “Paranoia” featured on our new compilation CD out this month. Total scorcher and we’re honored to have em’.
Below are the rest of the dates for their us tour with label mates Lullabye Arkestra and a video of “Paranoia”. The Philly show is tomorrow night.. and will likely be a night to remember.

One of our favorite NY bands The Above are putting the finishing touches on their debut: a self-titled full length due out soon.
We just got a chance to listen to the record and, having only heard most of the tracks live, it’s great interpretation of this Brooklyn, Mod/Rock staple’s songs, translating the energy of the live set into a disc of 60’s-rooted pop-tunes. Awesome!
To wet our collective appetite, the Above put together the below video. You can also heck out some new tracks on the band’s myspace.
