So after our SXSW extravaganza we all headed over to Timmy the Texas Turd’s killer show on the Lamar Pedestrian Bridge: Brutal Knights, Fucked Up and No Age! This was easily the best show at SXSW 2008, sanctioned or not.
Thousands of people gathered at 2:00am to drink beer, hang out and (NOT) hear great bands. It was fucking insanity. The bridge was shaking like crazy and I’m sure some swore the thing was going to collapse.
Here’s No Age blasting out “Everybody’s Down” at about 3:00am. The beginning is a little shakey but it gets awesome!
For all his punches, crappy comments and hissy fits Jay Reatard is a cultivator of fine music and has been for quite some time. His label, Shattered Records, has introduced the world to more killer music than any punks over at Pitchfork ever have.
Here, Chef Tard pushes two awesome Tennessee bands onto the masses: The Barbaras and Cheap Time.
